Cusco
Arrive early and spend some time exploring the city. Meet the group at the welcome meeting, check for the start time on the welcome note at the hotel.
Day 2
Cusco/Ollantaytambo
Travel through the stunning Sacred Valley of the Incas, visiting a the tour operator-supported women's weaving co-op. Meet the women and learn about traditional weaving and dyeing. Opt to pick up some handmade souvenirs and textiles directly from the women who made them.
Have lunch at the the tour operator-supported Parwa community restaurant. Learn about the the tour operator for Good project and eat a delicious buffet-style lunch. Proceeds of this meal go directly back to the remote community.

Customer reviews & ratings
In the end, everything was fantastic. However, we did have some anxiety and confusion about packing. I may have missed an email, but I used the G-Adventures App and was unaware of the restrictions . I called before the trip and was told that our suitcases would be transferred between hotels. The welcome meeting did not clear things up. In hindsight, I now fully understand. I think a clear email ahead of the trip that says you can leave a small bag at the 2nd hotel that you will not get back until after Machu Picchu and you only have 7-8kgs, which includes 4kgs for sleeping bag and mat. We managed just fine with the restrictions, but I think it would be good on the Lares Trek if the small bag from hotel 2 could be picked up before catching the train to hotel 3. I have used G-Advenures 4 times now and each time has been great! I love the balance of classic tourism and some unusual bits. I like that they show and support local initiatives.
Lesley Oct, 2024 VerifiedI am positively surprised how everything was so well organized. There were only two of us and we were offered such a good service! The whole team put their heart and soul into their work and made it a pleasure. It is still an unknown hike with such an amazing landscape!
